What did you guys think of Serenity? I will not post any spoilers to the plot at the moment, but depending on how the discussion goes i might later.

It was good, but it suffered from having to conform to the restrictions of being a film, like having a plot that starts and stops in 1.5 hours, rather than having one that continues over 14 episodes, as in a series. I don't know what it is, but there was just something not right about the film. And also, it wasn't as good as any individual episode of the series. And River's fight scenes seem disjointed and positively boring compared to the fight scenes in, say The Matrix or Advent Children. It almost seems like they only had the fight scenes to attract mainstream audiences, although I see that they had to be included to establish the fact that she was dangerous, moreso than she was depicted in the series where all she did was shoot a few guys without looking.
